Costa Rica Cell Phone Rental Rates
IMPORTANT! We offer FOUR calling Plans. ALL Plans allow you to receive calls locally and internationally, but only Plans Three and Four allow international calling. If you need to call "back home", make sure you choose the correct plan!

Plan One - Can not make international calls from Costa Rica (to the USA for example) but can receive them. Use this plan if you will NOT need to makes calls to any other country. Now with UNLIMITED free minutes!
Plan Two - Same as Plan One but provides you with a toll free 800 number from the USA and Canada. You may give your personal toll free number to your family and business associates to call you at no charge to them.
Plan Three - Full International service. You are able to make and receive direct dial international calls to any country in the world from your phone.
Plan Four - International Saver Plan! This is a combination plan that uses a Plan One phone (see above) but we provide international calling card(s) so you CAN make international calls anywhere using the calling card! Plan 4 rentals are only available for rentals of 7 days or more. For less than 7 days, use Plan One and you can purchase calling cards from your delivery driver. Now with UNLIMITED free minutes!.

Less convenient than direct dial, but you get more than three times more free minutes AND a lower cost should you exceed your free minutes. Our most popular plan!NOTE: The calling card(s) can be used from ANY phone in Costa Rica, not just your cell phone.
This Plan is GREAT for those who only need the ability to make a few international calls during their visit and do not want to pay for the more expensive Plan 3. Plan 4 is not available for less than 7 days

All cell phones are equipped with Caller ID and Voice Mail
Renting a telephone for more than 90 days is very costly. We have therefore developed a Long Term Rental Plan for people who either are planning to move here and need a phone or for those who may visit Costa Rica frequently for pleasure or business and do not wish to pay the regular rental rates.
Basically, under this plan, you will own the cell phone and we will rent you the cell phone number (line). This is by far a more economical plan than renting under regular rates.

Discounts
Important: Free minutes are included in all plans. These are cumulative and the total minutes can be used at any time during the rental period.
On Plans 1 and 4, the minutes are unlimited.
Delivery and pickup are FREE for all rentals of at least seven days or longer. There is a drop off charge for any rental where the phone is returned at an airport area other than the one where you arrives. Example: San Jose arrival - Liberia departure. This charge is $40.00
Phone is delivered with accessories, including an owners manual. English versions of the owners Guides are available here.
A telephone security deposit of $125-$250 (depending on brand of telephone) is due upon delivery. We also require a usage deposit based on the length of the rental period. You will receive the exact amounts in our confirmation email.
First Period rental is also due in full at time of delivery.
You must have a valid email address and phone number for all rentals.
You are responsible for all damages to the phone and accessories.
We will program you Voice Mail with a message in English or in Spanish. Let us know in the Comments section of your reservation form.We can add toll free 800 service to a Plan 3 phone. This service adds an additional $1.50 per day to the Plan 3 rental rate and additional $0.20 per minute for all minutes used in excess of the free minutes provided. If you desire a toll free number added to your Plan 3 rental, please mention this in the Comments area when you reserve the phone.
Note: Toll free service is NOT available to be added to Plan 1 or Plan 4 phones.
About 75% of Costa Rica has cell phone coverage. We can make no guarantee if you will have service everywhere you travel. Nearly all heavily traveled tourist locations DO have coverage, but the only way to know for sure would be to call (not write) to the locations you will be traveling and ask them if there is cell coverage where they are.
Rates subject to change at any time without notice, but we never change rates for confirmed reservations. You are protected!
Note: We offer a 10% discount from the RENTAL per minute rates only, to members of the Association of Residents of Costa Rica - ARCR. To receive this discount you MUST provide your current membership number in the comments section of the reservation form. You must be a paid member at the time of the rental and at the time of the reservation!
