TURU BA RI Tropical Park is a brand new, eco-adventure oriented theme park, located at the west end of the Central Valley on your way to the Central Pacific Coast. Meaning River of the Clear Moon in the Huetar language, this Tropical Park started operation on April 5th, 2003. Boasting a total extension of 198 hectares (496 acres) in the village of San Juan de Mata, near Turrubares, San Mateo and Orotina, nestled in a beautiful scenery, it is surrounded to the northeast by the River Río Grande de Tárcoles, to the southwest by the Turrubares hillsides and the Carara National Park. To the west, the Gulf of Nicoya can be observed from the highest areas of our Tropical Park.
